Description

Cefepime hydrochloride, typically available as an injection (250mg is a dosage strength), is a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It's effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and is particularly useful for infections like pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and skin structure infections, and complicated intra-abdominal infections (when used with metronidazole). It's also used to treat febrile neutropenia, a condition where patients have a fever and low white blood cell count, increasing their risk of infection.
